At Wilken Bulk Haulage the key considerations when purchasing tyres is cents per kilometre, reliability and retreadability. That is why when we buy drive tyres we choose the Michelin XDE2+ and when we buy steer tyres we choose Michelin XZE2+.

On average the XDE2+ achieves a mileage in excess of 220,000 kilometres and the XZE2+ achieves a mileage of in excess of 130,000 kilometers.

To reduce the risk of break downs it is crucial for our business to have reliable tyres in our operation, and the Michelin tyre holds up time and time again.

When the new Michelin tyre has worn out we have the casings retreaded by the Recamic Factory (Michelin Retread Process and Materials) at Laverton (Victoria) to use on our trailers.

For the XZE2+ case we use the Recamic tread XTA and for XDE2+ case we use the XZU. The Recamic XTA returns and average mileage of 200,000 kilometres and Recamic XZU returns an average of 140,000 kilometres, the interchange ability of the Michelin case further delivers greater cents per kilometre and reliability.

For great cents per kilometre, reliability and retreadability we choose and will continue to choose new Michelin tyre and Recamic retread tyres in our fleet.
